Shimanie Shareef (Manie) is a Maldivian multidisciplinary visual artist, art instructor, designer, and illustrator whose work explores cultural fusion, historical legacies, and self-discovery. Working across mediums, she combines bold brushwork, vibrant colour, and thoughtful research to transform familiar subjects into imaginative visual experiences. Through her practice, she explores how art can encourage reflection, connection, and new ways of seeing.
Artist of Kaa Kada Mural
Based in Malé, Shimanie also runs Creative Jous, a multidisciplinary studio exploring self-discovery and collective care through art education and art therapy. Murals are among her favourite forms of expression, allowing her to leave a piece of herself within the spaces she creates. At Oaga, she recently brought this approach to life through the mural at Kaa Kada.
