Hussain Adnan (a.k.a Ted)

“The secret is to always work on composition and crop to get that perfect storytelling moment in frame.”

Hailing from the island of Haa Dhaalu Nolhivaranfaru, Ted recalls growing up in Malé shooting hours and hours of footage on his play-camera as a child without really knowing what was up. Now after years of dedication, he stands tall as a self-taught creative with a distinct signature in professional videography.

Watercolour has been Ted’s medium of choice since his school years and understanding how colours work is a big part of cinematography. Early in his career, Ted joined his guru’s production team working at Ahmed Fahud Studio, where he began exploring the infinite possibilities in visual content.

Ted always has to watch a movie or show more than once; from a technical perspective there’s always something new to be learned in the shots. Mammoths in filmmaking like Micheal Bay are the inspirations he enjoys studying most.

Ted has spent the last 17 years in professional videography and enjoys challenging himself to create short bursts of original content for his followers on social media. He is also an avid football enthusiast and plays cricket in his free time.

With his unique approach as an independent creative force, Ted delivers photo and video content that sings true to a mood and message. From the lights, colours and casting choices, there’s a lot that goes into creating exceptional shots that captures the spirit of stories with finesse and technique.
