BATHROOM
Graffiti & Gifili
Inspired by the Gifili, the open-air bathrooms once found in traditional Maldivian homes, the bathrooms of the Harugé and Bodu Harugé Beach Villas celebrate the simplicity of island living. The bathrooms of all Haruge Beach Villas and Bodu Haruge Beach Villas were playfully painted by Toxicrew, who used the cat and rooster as cultural symbols expressed through street art aesthetics. The rooster, up with the sun and active, contrasts with the cat’s nocturnal prowl. Both characters reflect islander archetypes, personifying these qualities in a playful, hip, and engaging way.

ARCHITECTURE
A-Frame Design
Inspired by the traditional Harugé, the iconic A-frame boatyard huts once found along the shores of Maldivian islands, the Bodu Harugé Beach Villas pay homage to a place where vessels were built, repaired, and readied for journeys across the sea. These humble structures stood as symbols of craftsmanship, resilience, and the deep relationship between island communities and the ocean.
Echoing this heritage, every beachfront villa is thoughtfully designed in the distinctive Harugé form, reimagining its timeless architecture through contemporary island living. Here, the spirit of Maldivian craftsmanship and coastal tradition is woven into every stay, creating a space where history, culture, and the rhythm of the shoreline come together.
